Harlem Globetrotters played in their first professional basketball tournament
and were defeated 27-23. In 1940 they had played over 2’000 games, and then in
1941 a new player joined the Harlem globetrotters his name was Reece “Goose”
Tatum who was responsible for their classic comedy routines.

In 1949 the Harlem Globetrotters defeated

12’ hoop dunk. Then in 2002 the Harlem Globetrotters donated 100,000 to the
Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The first ever sports comedy award went to the
Harlem Globetrotters in the Las Vegas comedy festival in 2003.2004 was the year
that Lynette Woodard was put into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall Of
Fame.
